Stars were seen as last year’s motif. This year’s motif is the butterfly- sure to be a trend fluttering around on clothing especially this spring and summer. Several designers including Collette Dinnigan, Diane von Furstenberg, Tibi, and Badgley Mischka showcased butterfly motifs in their 2009 collections. Butterflies play symbols of beauty, hope, and femininity creating a delicate elegance for garments.

New Fave Online Store February 6, 2009
Sadly most bridesmaids dresses sing that song U-G-L-Y! Asos.com is a goldmine for trendy affordable clothing where you could quite possibly find a dress that would make a gorgeous bridesmaid dress like the ones in the post below. “Stylish bridesmaid dress” is pretty much a sought after oxymoron by brides equivalent to searching for that needle in a haystack.
Asos.com is UK’s largest online fashion retailer with an eclectic display of thousands of high-fashion designer pieces, own label products, and celebrity-inspired clothing like this dress from that “fab wedding” below. The design was inspired by celebrity, Kate Bosworth’s dress. Unfortunately, it’s almost out of stock, but it’s on sale for $45.40. Yup that’s right, only $45.40!
If you go to the site and are confused as to how to make purchases because the prices are in euros, look to the top right hand corner and you can change the currency to US dollars. FYI shipping will probably be more costly. Definitely browse the ‘clearance’ section. It has some great bargains and it’s huge! Here’s a taste of what dresses I came across even to just wear for yourself. All these dresses except 2 ranged from about $20-$60. Happy shopping! =)

The Image Is Found sets the bar for photo booth pics. Their whole line of photos are bursting with hilarity.
Here’s when I really stopped in wonder. You see what I’m seeing in the background? You thinkin what I’m thinkin?????……..
Where did they find those bridesmaid dresses???
Who knew such an in vogue bridesmaid dress could exist?

Shorts Over Tights January 26, 2009
Here’s a look on our style watch that may take some getting use to – shorts over tights. This odd pairing has made appearances since 2007, but it seems just recently more ladies are ballsy enough to wear it.
Style tips: Wear them short but not too short. In addition to jean shorts, also try out other fabrics like tweed. For footwear, consider closed toe flats and pumps and the ever-popular ankle boots. Coordinate with tights of various colors and patterns.
Given the right ensemble, I think I’d dare to rock this look. Your thoughts – too weird and funky or would you/do you wear tights under your shorts?
Michelle’s Inaugural Style January 21, 2009
Not only do we get a new first lady, but an arrival of the resurgence of gracious, fresh style that hasn’t caught much attention and caused much buzz since Jackie Kennedy. Contrary to the drab, conventional, dress suits worn by most first ladies and female politicians, Michelle Obama ushers in an elegant but still youthful fashion. As an emblem of modern style, Michelle will continue to cause a stir amongst style-watchers. I love her bold choices of color and fusions of wearing mainstream American retailers while supporting lesser-known fashion designers. Her fresh new take on style is another symbol for just what our country needs.
Above at the inauguration, Michelle was dressed warm yet still pulled off chic, classic, and sophicticated in a lemongrass wool lace sheath and matching coat designed by Cuban-American designer Isabel Toledo. Jimmy Choo pumps and green J Crew gloves are a winning match and her wide diamante necklace adds a sparkling touch of elegance. I particularly love that shade of yellow which is a color noted by style experts to represent optimism, confidence, and hope.
In addition to one of America’s newest fashion icons, we get these two little precious fashionistas dressed in crewcuts by J Crew.
Later that evening, Michelle Obama revealed this white chiffon gown designed by Jason Wu. She’s definitely with the trends dressed in this one-shoulder neckline which was a popular sight on the red carpet of this past Golden Globes. It got some mixed reviews, but I liked the sparkles and appliques and thought the neckline looked flattering on her. What did you think of this white gown?
Lovin’ That Lace! January 19, 2009
If you’re a bride that loves lace, check these dresses out from two of my favorite designers:
Goddess of couture, Carolina Herrera:
Lazaro continues to use his Latin heritage as inspiration for his designs. I love how his gowns are reminiscent of that Old World Spanish style.
